May Candle of the Month: Lemon Verbena

Lemon Verbena
Lemon Verbena : Lemon Verbena is both refreshing and uplifting with the scent of fresh verbena leaves, light crisp lemon-peel and a hint of herbs, fruits and flowers.

Lemon Custards With Lemon Verbena Recipe

Often used to make herb tea and liqueurs in Provence, the fragrant herb lemon verbena gives a nice lift to these rich, silky lemon custards. Look for fresh lemon verbena at farmers' markets and nurseries; dried lemon verbena can be found at specialty foods stores.

  • 1 cup water
  • 14 2- to 2 1/2-inch-long fresh or dried lemon verbena leaves (optional)
  • 10 2 x 1/2-inch strips lemon peel (yellow part only)
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine first 3 ingredients in medium saucepan. Boil until mixture is reduced to 1/2 cup, about 4 minutes. Add sugar; simmer until mixture is reduced to 1/3 cup, about 3 minutes. Stir in cream. Whisk yolks to blend in medium bowl. Gradually whisk in hot cream mixture. Whisk in lemon juice.

Strain custard through sieve into 4-cup measuring cup. Divide among six 2-cup ramekins or soufflé dishes. Cover ramekins with foil. Place ramekins in 13 x 9 x 2-inch metal baking pan. Add enough hot water to pan to come halfway up sides of ramekins.

Bake custards until just set, about 45 minutes. Remove pan from oven; let custards cool in water in pan. Transfer ramekins to refrigerator. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight. Serve chilled.

Congratulations to Our First Triple Diamond: Kathy Schneider

Note From Sr. Director/2005 Distributor of the Year, Jackie Ulmer: Kathy works tirelessly to build her business and support her team. She's an exact "numbers gal" and she puts the numbers she gathers into her vision and it is really paying off! Kathy's story is a great one, and one that always makes me remember to keep candles and boxes on hand. A gentlemen on my e-newsletter contacted me almost 3 years ago to buy a candle for his wife for Mother's Day. Sex on the Beach, of course! I (begrudgingly) packed it up, under charged him on shipping because I was so new, pulled my son (with chickenpox) out of bed to get to the post office and get the candle shipped. The candle arrived late, by two days, and yet he fell in love with the it. He was a team partner with Kathy in another business at that time, but contacted her and told her this was something she should look at. Kathy took a look, signed up for COTM just to treat herself to a candle with no intention of working the business. Well, we all know how addicting the candles AND the business can be! Flash forward into the future and we have a lovely, committed, inspiring Triple Diamond in our midst! And, I understand John, who bought my candle, is now on her team! Congrats Kathy! I love and appreciate you!

Kathy SchneiderTriple WOW! WOW! WOW! --- I’m still in awe of the volume generated by this fabulous TEAM of men and women I’m blessed to have fun with. I know it’s called ‘work’ and YES, we do work --- we are diligent in doing what needs to be done but, we have FUN! We laugh, joke and enjoy one another.

As an option, we have a Prayer Group, as well, where we pray daily for one another’s businesses, the Corporate Staff and specific needs as they come up.

Back in December of 2005, when I submitted ‘my story’ upon being promoted to Double Diamond (meaning $25,000 in team volume), I charted the progress I wanted to see accomplished over the next year. My figures projected the $40,000 in volume needed to meet the Triple Diamond qualifications to be by the end of May 2006. As a team, we have been playing double time and are 2 months ahead of the chart.

I shared my charts / goals with those on my team (who were interested in seeing them), then helped them to chart goals of their own, as well.

How did we as a team reach the needed volume for Triple Diamond Status?

It’s the simplicity of SDA. Single Daily Action.

We share with one another what’s worked to build a retail customer base and emphasize the importance to smell and sell the product FIRST THING! It’s so important to be a product of the product and to represent a product you would use yourself, regardless if you were making money with it or not.

I’m not saying you must be candle crazy but you must believe Mia Bella candles are the best candles ever made. In other words, believe in the product.

Next, believe in the opportunity. As a team, we suggest that new distributors read over the Roadmap and create their business plan. Choose to actively pursue the various ways to earn money that are of interest to them and that fit their lifestyle and personality.

For those interested in building a team, we have a system that supplies an ongoing supply of (leads) people looking at the opportunity offered by our company, Scent-Sations. Those participating in our lead generation system are given the simple steps to take each lead through:

      • Call
      • Email
      • Mail Information Packet
      • Follow-up, Follow-up, Follow-up

We give unlimited support to one another and make an effort to let our prospects in on this ‘before’ they become distributors. In other words, we let them ‘see’ us as we see one another – as family. We don’t beg people to join us in business but rather show the prospect what we have to offer, how we can make things better for themselves and their families.

I am so pleased to see people having success in retailing, running successful fundraisers, and building a team. It’s so rewarding to see team members highlighted in the company’s monthly newsletter. It’s not about me and my name being there – it’s about how many who came into this business, after I did, that are having success and being recognized that creates the success I’m experiencing.

As anyone who has been in Network Marketing anytime at all knows – “The easiest way to get what you want is to help others get what they want.”

There was a time, when my own monthly recruiting goals were much higher than they are today. I came to the realization, that it’s more rewarding (in many ways) to put my effort into sharing with others what has worked for me and to help those interested to build their own team. Likewise with sharing what works to increase retail sales and in obtaining more fundraisers.

Since taking the focus off of me and my own sponsoring efforts – and focusing more on the efforts of my partners -- our growth, both in new members and volume has exploded. Ahhhhhhh! – “The easiest way to get what you want is to help others get what they want.”

As a team, we have the tools and a system in place where a brand new distributor can step in and have success immediately. More and more leaders within the team continue to offer to assist and share what is working for them. We really are like one big family – and we have FUN!

Reaching the Triple Diamond title is exciting but when I think about the future and the success that we have yet to experience, I realize we have just begun!

I can’t name names here (there’s not near enough room) but I’m speaking the truth when I say, ‘watch and read the future newsletters’ --- there are many distributors (partners in my business) who are responsible for my reaching Triple Diamond and I know many of them are climbing to the top (and fast!). I love and appreciate EACH of you!

I want to acknowledge my husband and children for their love and support of my business. Sure, it can be done without support but I am grateful that I have had nothing but 100% backing from day one. I don’t take it for granted. Thank you, Jimmy, Jordan, Clayton and Paige!

In closing, I want to give my appreciation to the owners and Corporate staff, as well. It’s been brought to my attention by a member of my team who reads and understands the policy and procedures – he’s shared his knowledge and research that we as distributors are being looked out for by those in charge. Thank you, Bob, Charlie, Carmen and Lynn. I appreciate each of you!”

A Huge Thank You to Bonnie Jakub From All of Us!

Bonnie JakubBonnie has given of herself straight from the heart with her talent and love for the people in this wonderful Scent-Sations business.  Where else can you find a top professional photographer who cares this much about her subjects and goes that extra mile when producing the incredible photos we have all witnessed from past Flings.  Bonnie is a leader who saw a need and knew she had the skills to produce what was needed .... she took the initiative and stepped up to the plate.  Thanks Bonnie!  You make even ME look good!
John & Lise Mac Fadden, Canada

I sat next to Bonnie during one session at the Spring Fling and I watched how she took notes, cheered for the speakers AND never missed a great shot!  She also changed batteries a couple times during that session and I thought to myself how expensive it must be to have to buy batteries for just one weekend.  I so appreciate her sacrifice and contribution to make our events really special by capturing all the great moments.
Kari Andersen, Montana

Bonnie Jakub is not only an awesome photographer, she is a team player and business builder. She began coming to our company events to learn ways to grow her business and found a niche for using her photography training and passion to support the team. In the process, she has learned a great deal about moving her business forward and works many different methods for building her business. She gives tirelessly of herself at each event, and we have great "captured" moments to show for it. Thanks, Bonnie!
Jackie Ulmer, Senior Director, CA

It seemed to me that Bonnie was working 24/7 at the Spring Fling, just to give us the best photographic journey with the most incredibly high quality photos for our web album. Thanks to Bonnie for her first class effort at recording our best and worst moments.
Bob Schmitz, PA

Bonnie is a “memory maker”. She has taken her personal gifts of photography, dedication, and leadership to capture the spirit and energy of each Fling. Not only does Bonnie fabulously highlight each speaker, but she has a unique style of searching the crowd and finding the faces and stories of inspiration that make each Fling dynamic. Thanks, Bonnie! We appreciate your giving nature!
Deb Warren, Director, MI

It takes the combined effort of many people working as a team to make an event a phenomenal success. The valuable contribution made by Bonnie Jakub with her gift of professional photography to our Spring and Fall Flings is "priceless" as the people and experience are now captured for those that attended to re-live and for everyone to share in. Bonnie, thank you for your "Scent-Sational" work and dedication!
Stephanie Sterling, MD

Bonnie is so natural to us, like the sister who is always there taking care of the details so the rest of the family can mingle. She is the fabulous example of unconditional love, and such a pleasure to to be with when she's not busy contributing to the memory and success of someone else.
John & Judy Handrahan, TX

Some smiles come straight from the heart, and that is what we see every time we see one light up Bonnie's face! We'd like to thank her for all that she contributes to each of us--not only during each company Fling, but continuously thereafter. Bonnie is an artist! Each photograph she takes combines her talents, creativity, energy, and of course...her incredible smile. Bonnie, thank you so much for being there not only for yourself, but for all of us. Thank you for making it possible for us to share the heart and soul of the Scent-Sations family and our business with others.

Texas Rising Stars Have A Blast At Spring Fling!
Bobby, Charlie, Lynn and Carmen,

John and I would like to thank you for the wonderful time we had at the Spring fling and tell you how wonderful it was to see all of you again and get to spend time with you.  We are so impressed every time we come to Wilkes-Barre that you all give so much of your limited time to see that we have a good time and to spend time with all of us. The fling was awesome and we had a great time.

John and I were humbled and honored to receive the "Rising Star Award" and  the time on stage to talk.  It is a very humbling  and terrifying experience to get up and speak in front of that many people.

We are so grateful to all of you for making this opportunity available to us and we are honored to know the four of you.

We have been there so often now (our 3rd fling) that the employees as well as yourselves are starting to feel like an extended family.  We can't wait to see all of you again in the Fall.

Have a great day, once again, thanks for everything, and God bless.

An update from John And Judy:

Just wanted to touch base since we had been gone for so long and let you know we are back from our trip and ready to rock and roll.  We had such a great time and were gone almost 3 weeks.  We are just now getting caught up.

That is definitely too long to be gone from home, but we did have a great trip.

For those of you that did not make the fling, please try and get to the Mid States Conference in Topeka in May.  It will be an unforgettable event.  Bobby and Charlie will be there as well as other leaders from the company.  Kellene and Bill have been working on this event since last August and they have really put a lot of time into it and if it is anything like last year's mid states conference, it will be awesome.

If you are anywhere within 12 hours of this, you should make it a point to get there, and if you are in the Kansas and Missouri areas, there should be no reason for you not to be there. John and I will be looking forward to meeting some of you there.  It is a 12 hour drive for us but we will be there.

For those of you that did not make the spring fling, you really missed a great fling.  Where else can you go to hear from the company's top distributors and the owners of the company about how to do this business in a big way.  When the owners of this company do something, they do it in a big way.  It was great, the meetings were awesome, the parties were awesome, the food was great and John and I got to spend so much time with the owners and the Directors, it was a great experience for both of us.

Janie and Larry met us there and we roomed together, as we usually do and it was wonderful to see them for several days and we met our good friends Kellene and Bill there, we were excited to see them again, and they had Savannah with them and it was great to spend so much time with her.  She is such a beautiful and charming young woman.  John had a ball dancing with her.  Actually we all did.  I know she had a great time at the fling.  There were so many memorable moments, it would be hard to tell them all.

One thing about going to the fling, is getting to tour the candle factory and getting to meet the owners.  Talking with them in person and looking them in the eye and hearing them tell you about the company and how they are so excited about it, you can feel their integrity when you are with them, and it just makes us that much more excited to be a part of this and want to work that much harder to build this big.

John and I were humbled and honored to be called up on stage and given a new award called "Rising Star Award" and were given some time on stage to talk.  It is a very humbling  and terrifying experience to get up and speak in front of that many people. LOL

Our friends Kellene and Bill were also given that award and we are very proud of them.

One of our favorite parts of the fling is always getting to see our sponsors, Lise and John.  They are truly great leaders in the company and we always enjoy spending time with them.  We have known John and Lise for a number of years from another company we were both a part of for several years, and it is truly gratifying to see how fast they have become top leaders in this company and to see how hard they have worked to achieve this status.  We are still working on them to come to Texas this year and spend a week or two with us.

After the fling, we went on to see our daughter and her family in Massachusetts and Vance and Shannon and little Jedi flew out there to vacation with us.  We went on to Cape Cod with them to visit John's mother who will be 84 this year and some old friends that we only get to see every 2 or 3 years as well as other relatives like my sister who still lives there.

Vance and Shannon wanted to see where their mom and dad grew up, so we took them to see the homes we grew up in, in Massachusetts as well as our old stomping grounds and the beaches we used to go to when we were young.

I have got to say, if it was not for this company, we wouldn't have been able to go on vacation for 3 weeks and the fact that we came back after 3 weeks and had 10 new distributors in our organization while we were gone was very gratifying.  We have a great team here and we are grateful and proud of all of you.  You are a wonderful team and a lot of you make us very proud with your hard work and determination to succeed.

Thanks for being part of this team and you all make it very special and we are very grateful for each and every one of you.

Lori Zouiten Makes Mia Bella's History!

Lori ZouitenCompany Note: The online retail store opened for business in April and the first online retail order ever created at Scent-Sations was through Lori Zouiten’s website!

My name is Lori Zouiten and I live in Miami, Florida with my husband Zouhair and our 5 year old daughter, Iman and I am expecting our 2nd child November 17th, 2006. I joined Scent-Sations in February 2005 after seeing an ad on a pay to read emails website.

My sponsor, Connie Gleave called approximately 5 minutes after I signed up for her newsletter and I joined just days after first talking to her and before having ever experienced the candles first-hand!

I was first intrigued by the income potential with the company. Becoming financially independent is an aspiration of mine and I know that with Scent-Sations that will become a reality.

The second thing that really grabbed my attention was the product base of the candles. Knowing that the candles are a healthy alternative to traditional candles was something that I knew that I promote with a clean conscious. I have dabbled in all 3 major avenues of earning money with Scent-Sations, however my main focus is on Residual.

I was really shocked to find out that I received the first ever online retail sale! I know that online retail will be a huge benefit to our customer base and something that we can really promote to our potential business partners as a way that they can grow their business. With having our customers shop online we have joined the big leagues and I know that only the sky is the limit!

Training Corner: MLM - It's Opening Outlets

Jackie UlmerIt's true in this business like any other. The most successful franchisers are the ones who open the most outlets, and coach and train those outlets to be successful.

In MLM, it works the same way. It's the number of outlets that you open, along with the proper coaching and guidance, that generate your success. "Outlets" is just another name for sponsoring in new business partners.

Let's look at why this is -

First, leaders show up at all different times and on all different levels. When I look at my own report, I see leaders on just about every level. Some I sponsored, some I obviously didn't. That means that some who I sponsored ultimately led me to leaders somewhere. Or, rather, led leaders to me.

Some people need to sponsor 5 people to have a leader show up. For others, it is 50. That reality doesn't need to discourage you. The bigger your numbers grow, the closer you are, really! And, with a solid, equitable pay plan, it doesn't matter where they show up! This could not be truer than with the Scent-Sations compensation plan.

In my first company, my biggest leader came early on. Because of the way that pay plan was structured, my upline made hundreds of thousands of dollars. I made thousands on that leg. Big disparity. And, certainly not what I would call equitable. But, that experience became invaluable because it taught me to closely evaluate pay plans and understand the good, bad and ugly.

Believe me, there is a lot of "ugly" in MLM Pay Plans. You may think one is great based on initial analysis and the "hype" that often surrounds a distributor's explanation of the plan. Don't be afraid to play devil's advocate with all aspects of it to be sure. You can spend all day working different scenarios with the Scent-Sations compensation plan, and you'll come away convinced! As long as you have 5 active Candle of the Month members on your first level, you are set to earn a very hefty paycheck as your team grows.

You may be struggling with the "when is it going to happen for me" syndrome. I know how you feel, I've been there myself.

And, it's hard to hear - "Oh, just go sponsor another distributor."

But, it's true. If you don't feel you have yet landed someone on your team who shares your same drive and passion. That's okay. They are on their own agenda and that is fine.

Your agenda, however, is to keep uncovering stones until you find one, or two, or twelve. Or, until they lead you to someone who does share your drive and is ready to build the business.

It's tempting to think - "I must be doing something wrong, or I am not doing enough."

Nope, not true. It's not you. How do I know this? Well, there are some on my own team who have a large business growing and they really don't provide anything in terms of support or coaching. I recently contacted one of my frontline people, who had dropped to inactive. She has a LARGE organization developing under her. I asked her if she realized what she was missing now, and what she would miss potentially by not getting back involved.

That growth happened without any effort on her part. A leader was there and took action.

This is not always enough to motivate someone to begin building in order to not miss out on what is there and what will likely be there in the future. True motivation has to come from within.

So, as long as you are directing people to the tools and support they need, and fulfilling your end of the bargain, relax. It's not you. It's not anything you are doing or not doing. Your job is to continue opening outlets (sponsoring people frontline), and support those people in anyway that you can. Business builders will show up.

Keep turning over stones and keep adding to your frontline. Don't be tempted to "stack in people" for growth. Go wide, wide, wider until you can't control the explosion.

Start that snowball rolling!

EXPECT Success!

"Little Voices"

Hsiao-Ling DawsonWhen I was asked to submit my story for the newsletter, I was thrilled. I did not think I had anything to offer, or contribute. In fact, that was exactly the same thought whenever there is an opportunity for me to take on something bigger than I think I could accomplish.

I have always seen myself “small” and have never thought that one day, I will have a business of my own.

Whatever I have accomplished in my life, the voices of “I cannot do this,” or “I don’t know how to do it” are always there to argue, to discount my ability to produce results. I call those voices, “Little voices in my head”. Saying they are “Little” is an understatement. They have a huge impact on my thoughts, my actions, and how I feel moment by moment.

Have you ever had a day like this: you wake up in the morning, and do not want to do anything about your candle business, no matter how incredible those candles are? Well, we had one of those days. My husband and I started doing so-called, “Cold Calling” with local businesses and offices three times a week. It was something we had never done in our life, and in fact, I thought it would be crazy of me to do that (can you tell that “the little voices” were talking?!).

We listened to the recorded call on the “Cold Calling” approach, and sold one candle the next day out of 20 businesses visited. My “little voice” was saying “I failed,” and I felt disappointed, and discouraged instantly. The feeling of inadequacy was so overwhelming that I did not even recognize what we had taken on was a HUGE step, especially for me since I don’t do things that I don’t know how to do (I usually have to make sure that I am prepared, I know exactly what to do, I have enough information for me to do....).

The next morning, we did not wake up with excitement or inspiration because “the little voices” have been giving us plenty of reasons not to get out there to promote our candle business, like “Oh it is windy today, and it is too hard to walk around” or “People are going to say no anyway.” We just wanted to take a break.

I soon realized the impact on us when we agreed with the “Little voices” (like it’s someone else’s voices, but ours). We stopped taking actions. Instead of being excited or inspired, we were frustrated about our candle business. You see, when you agree with “the little voices,” of yours, you stop, and nothing is possible. The fact is that we forgot that we ARE the producer of our own “little voices.”

As soon as I realized the impact of “the little voices” on us, it was very clear that we had a choice— we could choose “the little voices,” or we could choose our business. The moment when we took the responsibility of how our day could go— like we DO have control about how our day can go— rather than letting something outside of us responsible for our day (i.e., people’s opinions, not enough time, no money, “the little voices”...), we experienced freedom immediately. We actually HAVE THE CHOICE to stop our actions or being in actions. We sold 5 candles that day!!!

Next time, when you hear “I don’t have time” or “I don’t think I can do this”— whatever your version is, just knowing that it’s a “smoke screen” that your “little voices” are putting on you so you don’t have to be responsible for what could be possible in your life. If you want to be a powerful leader, you have got to jump for joy as you take on being responsible.

Oh, till this day, we still do our “Cold Calling” three times a week, though, we change it to, “Mia Bella Trip” now. As we take our “Mia Bella Trip” each day, we realized our ownership of our business— we are known as a local business owner in town!

Part-Time Candle Business Is Growing, Growing, Growing!

Anderson FamilyI am pleased to be invited back to our scent-sational newsletter! I was in the newsletter exactly a year ago in May 2005 and so much has happened in the last 12 months with my Mia Bella Business.

Let me start with how I got involved with the business…I joined Scent-Sations back in the Fall of 2004, originally as a ‘treat’ to me. I thought it would be great to get a jar, a dozen votives and a botanical cleansing bar once a month right to my door! I knew I had to be on to something good when the UPS guy actually knocked on my door and waited until I answered so he could ask what smelled so good in the box!

That was just the beginning! My first COTM was Banana Nut Bread and I lit it the jar and put it in the entry way of my home. A couple hours later my husband came home from work and as he walked in the garage door - on the other side of the house said “Honey you baked for me today!”. I snickered from my home office and showed him the candle, he was wow’d!

At this point I was truly pleased with the product, and so glad I joined the Candle Of The Month auto shipment program! Then more started happening. My daughter had a play date, her friend’s Dad came to pick her up and he smelled the candle burning. So I told him about Mia Bella Candles, he wanted to see all the aromas available - and I made my first sale. 2 jars!
He then asked if he could take a brochure to his work, he said the ladies there were always passing around catalogs and such - so he did - and he brought me more orders. I was in awe. I had sworn off Direct Sales, low and behold here I was making sales and not even trying.

Now I shifted my attitude towards Direct Sales! I decided to research the business opportunity aspect of Mia Bella and decided ‘what the heck’ and started to give it a go. I went into it with the attitude of ‘if it happens, that’s great - if not, that’s okay too’. Well, it happened! I made a marketing website, people found me, people called me, people joined my team. I did local events, Farmer’s Market - and was even on the front page of our local newspaper!

As my team grew, so did my commission check - that was pretty exciting to me. So I started looking deeper into the compensation plan and was so pleased to see all the new changes. Seeing people moving up in the company is very inspiring, - other Work At Home Moms like me - seeing them going Double Diamond, Triple Diamond, Director, Sr. Director. It CAN be done!

I am just tickled with our new products, Mia Melts, simmer pots, and gorgeous full color brochures.  This company keeps knocking my socks off and I am looking forward to blooming my biz this summer and during the holidays!

I have worked at home since 2002 and Mia Bella is my ‘side business’, I currently work my candle business only about 5 hours per week and I have built a wonderful team of people in just over a year . My team is also an inspiration to me - seeing their successes keeps the fire burning. My goal for 2006 is to continue to grow my team, and to help my team members grow their teams. I’m looking forward to my future with Mia Bella!

I honestly believe that anyone, ANYONE can do this business! No experience necessary, if you can say ‘do you burn scented candles in your home?’ you can do this business and will flourish at it! If you say you can - you will! If you say you can’t - you won’t!

Stephanie Blaker Is Having Huge Success With Home Parties!
Stephanie BlakerI am so excited to tell you that I have been training and holding home party shows using the company's new Party invitations.  They are so beautiful and easy to use.  I have taken this opportunity to invite my team to a conference call on themed and home parties.  Many of them are holding shows of their own and doing great earning as much as $500.00 a night in just under 1 hour time.

I have been hosting home parties and working in this industry for over 18 years.  I love to meet new people and introduce them to products just like ours.  Products I believe in and want to share with as many people as I can.  I set up a display for them to smell, and touch and provide my story about the company as well as some brief entertainment of sort (usually a fun game). I give them a few minutes to smell all the scent samples and look at our beautiful new catalogs and shop for their favorite scents. I ask them to check out with me when they are ready. I make sure to ask each and every guest one on one if they would like to hold a home or office show, and even a book show if they just are not sure who to share the wonderful products with (friends, family and co-workers.)  Usually they agree to one, which keeps my calendar booked and more sales means more money for me and my family.  I just love this feature!

My sponsors, Bill and Kellene Vandorn asked me to do a web training over the experience I had been having and I was delighted to join everyone and tell them just what I was offering in my home party plan.  I believe in offering something to the hostess for opening up her home and inviting her friends and family to help her shop.  I offer a % of my sales from that evening to her in Mia Bella products. She also gets bonus bucks "Bella Bucks" for those who promise to hold a show of their own and will get those to spend at that guest show. This way I am out nothing if her friend decides she is  just not able to hold a show after all, and I do not feel the need to keep tracking her down if she is just not interested.

This has given my family a great source of income and I am happy to share it with you, and also just how I make every party special.

Don't let this source of income pass you by.  Tap into this lucrative market and start earning an extra 2-300.00 a night just in orders for just 1 hour of time or less.

I was a volunteer for the American Heart Association for ten years, before currently employed for seven years as a staff member.   Being from a very people-oriented family, my parents taught me the importance of giving back to others and volunteering in the local community.  I enjoy surrounding myself with people.

After being married for a year to my husband, a singer and entertainer, who does some traveling across the country, I felt I needed to fill some down time for myself and be productive too.   I began searching the web for something to add to my very hectic schedule, yet, that something would be my stress relief from my daily work load.

If I chose to sell a product, I wanted it to be one I truly supported and would feel good about telling people the positives of buying that product.  I found the Scent-Sations website in the Fall of 2005.  I really liked what I read about the company’s history, the products, the non-pressure opportunities with the company and location so close to home.

The words on the screen gave a feeling, this company is very family-oriented and they had a product I already enjoyed; Candles and lots of them.  I shared with a friend what I was thinking about doing and she cheered me on to do it.  Yet, time got away from me and days turned to months and I still hadn’t made up my mind to move forward to sign-up and explore this fun possibility.

Finally, the end of January 2006, I decided to go with it and become a distributor.  My “cheerleader” friend called me at the same time to tell me her husband’s friend just started selling the same candles.  Wow!  So I met with her and signed on and the rest, you might say is history.  Although, I think it’s only the beginning of my new adventure.

Having been a loyal candle fan of another company, I knew I had to do my own testing with my new candles, to prove to myself that this new product had many positives to promote sales and so people would hear the sincerity in my voice when I would share the reasons why to purchase this product.

Votive DecorationsIn April I hosted an open house for family and friends to see in person the jars, soaps, body/hand wash and votives.  I created a retail store in my home, separating the scents by season, and showcasing ways to display and use candles in a home décor.  I felt I wasn’t crafty enough to think up great ideas, so I leaned on my mother, a florist and artist to assist me. With lots of creativity, together we produced, for example, floral arrangements with tulip votive holders for Springtime decorations.

Thinking the cinnamon buns would not be of interest, I did not have any on hand to sell.  Well, everyone asked about them.  So now I have those buns in my inventory.

I have even done office luncheons and social parties “cocktails and candles”.

If you think, you don’t have the crafty- creativity, you’ll be surprised.  You do!  Just give yourself time to think about it, look around your homes, experiment and bring your thoughts to the surface.

I am extremely excited about my new endeavor, I have been able to incorporate my candle sales through my family’s catering business, with my co-workers throughout our affiliate and have been approached by independent retail store owners to sell the candles in their stores.

Candles are soothing and set off a warm feeling when you walk into someone’s home and see and smell one burning.  I look forward to much success back to the company and to me as well.  Keep it simple, social and lots of fun.

I thank you Mia Bella-Scent-Sations candles for a chance to make dollars from your scents.

New Scent-Simmer Pot Is A Big Hit At The Beach!

Sandy & Karrie PhinneyI went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend to meet up with my best girlfriend and her family.  She'd ordered 2 jar candles the week before our trip.  I "delivered" them to her and thus,  have a 'beach trip write off'.

While packing for the weekend trip,  I thought to myself "why not pack my simmer pot with some Mia Melts and see what she thinks".  She'd ordered a Cucumber Melon jar candle,  so I brought a Cucumber Melon votive to put in the Simmer Pot (since I didn't want to part with my Fresh Linen melts).

When we got there she said "excuse the smell,  this room has a horrible musty smell".  I said,  "oh,  I can fix that"!  I immediately plugged in the Simmer Pot with the Cucumber Melon crushed votive.  We went out on the beach.

When we came back about an hour later,  you wouldn't believe how that room smelled.  Needless to say,  she fell in LOVE with the Simmer Pot and bought it on the spot for $20.  Now,  she'll be a Mia Melt buyer for sure!  She has my brochure and is marking off all the scents as she buys them.  She wants to try all 90+!  Being that she is out of state from me,  the online ordering will come in very handy for her!

Thank you everyone at headquarters for your creativity, innovations, and  desire to be the 'cutting edge' leaders  of the  candle industry.

Kitt Is "Addicted" To Her Home Business

My name is Kitt, and I've been with the company since November.

I decided today that I had to take a moment to email you and say- this business is one in a million!  I had to laugh as I was cleaning the bathroom this afternoon and realized I was constantly running back and forth from my laptop to my cleaning duties.  I am ADDICTED TO MY BUSINESS!

Thank goodness I am on my way to double diamond, because we now need to add a maid to the list of items to add to our goals.  I am so busy having fun "working" that my house doesn't seem to get cleaned as often as it used to anymore.  Selling candles and making new business partners is just more fun than cleaning a toilet.

Thanks for your part in creating a company that provides me and thousands of others with a great way to work and still have a life filled with fun, laughter, and time for the things that COUNT.  (But obviously that doesn't include house chores!)

Sincerely,
Mia Bella Junkie --Kitt Draheim

Candle Car Magnets Take Their "Toll!"

I have a car magnet on the driver's side of my car. While going thru the toll both on Route 60, the man in the booth asked me if I had a candle. On this occasion, I didn't have one candle in the car (taught me a lesson). I didn't think he was serious about buying a candle, I thought he was just fooling around.

The next time I was on Route 60, he was there again.  He asked me again if I had a candle. Well, this time, I had 3 cases of candles in the back of my Honda CRV and I keep two sitting on the front seat.

I said sure, and handed him a Baby Powder candle and he bought it!

When I came down Route 60 yesterday, he bought a Patchouli Spice and proceeded to tell me how great the candles were (leaving 5 cars sitting behind me in line).

I hope everyone has as much fun selling these candles as I do!

Great Stories From New Distributors!

I fell in love with the Mia Bella products and had been buying them from Deb Clough since September 2005. Then I had a EUREKA moment and decided to become a distributor and it happened in January 2006.

10 days later I was at my first business opportunity meeting with Paul Hobson, my sponsor Deb Clough and many others from New England. What a great way to get started. I haven’t looked back since. I was also in the middle of my Marketing class for graduate school and my professor asked me to come back in the fall to speak to that class! Oh my…

My first retail foray was with my coworkers (I work in the NH court system) and they bought over 10 jars and Bella Bars within 2 weeks. Then I decided to offer to do a fundraiser.

It was embraced wholeheartedly and the Project Graduation group sold over 80 jars in 3 weeks - (these were online orders from the high school PTO broadcast email) I just concluded a brief Scholarship Fundraiser and donated 100% of my proceeds to the high school scholarship.

Every day is a new adventure. The support from corporate is topnotch, the documents on the website to support distributors are a huge asset, the weekly calls are motivating and I couldn’t ask for a better friend and sponsor – Deb Clough.

I look forward to building my team and educating everyone I meet about the cleaner burning MIA BELLA candles and Scent-Sations products. See you at Fall Fling

P.S. My family is a big help in sorting and labeling jars and supporting me emotionally as we venture down this new path—I have been married for almost 22 years to Ron. We have 2 children – Molly (20yrs.) and a sophomore in college and John (16 yrs) and a sophomore in high school. We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats in our home.

Laura ChaseMy Scent-Sations "love story" started in the Costco parking lot.  I was getting ready to leave, when I noticed this van with a URL on it.  I sat there for a minute watching this lady load her groceries and I was thinking, "Wonder if she makes any money with that business?"  I wasn't going to go over to her but instead of making a left turn, I made a right turn (in more ways than one).

So, I yelled out to this lady, "HEY, you makin' any money doing that?"  She turned around with a huge smile on her face, put her groceries down, and grabbed a jar.  She came over to me and stuck it under my nose!  If I recall, the scent was Sex on the Beach.

She introduced herself as Kari Andersen, and yes, she was making money doing this!  Kari's enthusiasm was so genuine, her smile so friendly, who could not listen to what she was saying?  So, I joined up!  And yes, it has been a love story!

I am very busy.  I have 2 other businesses that keep me hopping, but I always incorporate the candles in everything I do.  People smile when I do my show and smell.  And I smile also, so we are all happy!

I DO get butterflies when I have helped someone have a better day, and I LOVE THIS BUSINESS.  The people that I meet may be having a bad day, but those candles seem to make everything a little bit better.  It is something positive, and I do not sell these candles, they sell themselves!

It is hard for me to explain these feelings.  It is almost like after all these years of looking and working for someone else, I have found a home!  I have looked at a ton of MLM's, joined several, and NEVER made any money.  With these candles, I made money the first week!  AWESOME! AWESOME!

But, for me, it is not all about the money.  It is about helping other people.  It is about relationships.  It is about being excited.  It is about being happy!

I normally don't share this part of my life, but I lost my only child in a car accident in 1999.  I changed my lifestyle dramatically after his death.  I look at life differently now and I finally realized that there is more to life than material things and you never know when your time is up.  So, I try very hard to live my life positively and to pass that on to other people.

That is what I have found in Kari Andersen and this company, and that is my "love story."

Oh, by the way, did I tell you, I REALLY LOVE THIS BUSINESS!

Laura Chase, MT

I just wanted to write and say that I received my COTM  on Friday. I really didn't have the chance to open and really get familiar with the scent, so I kept it in its place until today(MONDAY).

My landlord came by to collect the rent and I showed her all of the scents that I had. She immediately grabbed the Chili Vanilli 16 oz jar and (4) of the votives.

After she left, I started  thinking to myself  that I had just gotten BACK some of my own rent money!

As I mentioned I "PRAYED" about this business and GOD hasn't let me down yet. The more I sell the more I take and invest back into my business. Scent-Sations is one of the best decisions I've made this year.

Johnnie Springett Creates Tote Bag For Retail

Johnnie SpringettMy first week of showing my candles, I quickly discovered it was very hard to carry two candles into a restaurant to deliver them to my sisters or friends and also my purse and keys and all the stuff we feel we must carry.

My first coffee break was with my sister at our neighborhood Barbeque restaurant for coffee.  I thought it would be a perfect time to test the "smell and sell" theory that Frances Pelletier, my sponsor sold me on.  So in I went with a candle in each arm to push my candles on my sister and perhaps the waitress.

Before I could get in my sit, the waitress and a friend were wanting to smell whatever that was I had in my hands.  So carefully without dropping everything I tried to set them down but they took them from me to smell and the rest is history. SOLD!  I left the BBQ place and went straight to Michael's and bought transfer cloth, and a cotton tote bag and made myself a "Mia Bella" candle tote bag.  Now I am ready to sell candles when I go out for lunch.  I took the carton bottom that you ship our candles to us in and cut out 6 placements for the bottom of my bag.  This holds 6 candles nicely.  I put a few Bella Bars on top.  The tote has 6 pockets on one side for my business cards.

So my web site can be seen, I used the Neon iron on letters just to make sure everyone can see that I sell CANDLES.  And of course the Mia Bella Candle is transferred there also. It looks a little tacky, but it draws attention and it is a great tote for my candles!

I live in High Point, NC and started selling Mia Bella candles about 2 months ago.  I work full time in sales.  I am in the apparel business with my husband.  We have been manufactures of clothing for 25 years, but with the outsourcing of labor, the apparel and textiles industry has gone from the USA so we are mostly sales and marketing.  Our manufacturing is in India.

I am in direct sales because it is fun and I love meeting people!  My goal is to build my team and work towards my retirement. I love our candles!  I love how they smell and sell!

Mia Bella Tote Recipe

Materials Needed:

  • (1) 14" Inch Canvas Tote with clear pockets
  • (1) Pkg of cloth transfer iron on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets  (4 sheets to pk)
  • (1) Pkg Heat Seal Neon Colored letters
  • (1) Yard of Ribbon  (Optional)
  • Cardboard candle inserts from previous jar candle shipment (optional)

Directions:

  • Print the Mia Bella logo sheet onto the transfer cloth paper in color off of your printer.
  • Carefully position the transfer onto the front of your canvas bag. (Be sure you put a thick piece of cloth inside of the bag so you will not melt the plastic pockets on the reverse side if your bag has these)
  • Using your iron on High, heat seal the letters in the wording your choose for your bag.  Example:  your web site, your telephone # or I Sell Candles
  • Next "jazz" your bag up by using clear glue and glue your ribbon along the top edge of your candle bag.
  • To make the bottom of the bag, use the carton that your candles are shipped in.  You will cut out four sections, cutting to make the perfect fit for the bottom of your bag.  You can place 4 jar candles in your bag.  Toss in a few Bella Bars.
  • Put your Business cards in the clear pockets on the reverse side and you are ready to deliver your sold candles or just go prospecting! Even put a few packets of various scents to hand out.

Easy as 1-2-3!  Don't forget to throw in your pamphlets and a few samples of votive! Have fun.  Any questions let me know! Estimated price to make:  $ 12.00-14.00

Consistent Daily Action Will Get Me There!
Cynthia Spencer-Clark

I am SO thankful that I was exposed to this awesome business opportunity as it has truly been a gift from God!  As a stay-at-home mom needing to supplement our income, I was desiring a way to utilize the Internet as a means of generating cash.  This business has fulfilled that desire.  With such a high-quality consumable product and the fabulous tools and support provided by the company and fellow distributors, I know that I can succeed.  I so appreciate the integrity of the company's leaders and their down-to-earth manner.  You don't have to be a "high-powered salesperson" to succeed in this business.  Just consistent, daily action will get you there.

What I am really happy about is the fact that my family loves the candles as well and they want to be involved in the business.  My 11-year-old daughter recently told me that SHE wants to be a candle consultant!  She has helped me in another party-plan business and through observation and conversation with me, she concluded that doing this candle business was THE way to go.  She said "All you have to do is light a candle and take some order forms"! (in reference to doing home shows).  She also had a suggestion for a new scent -- Peppermint -- while we were enjoying Peppermint Patties!  She was THRILLED when the company responded that they were currently testing some of the suggestions we made!

I must also say that my 3-year-old son LOVES to smell the candles, which can get rather time-consuming! I have had to make sure that he doesn't eat them because they smell so delicious!  He is in the process of becoming one of my business partners as he is nearly always with me when I promote them and likes to help with the "Smell and Sell" routine!  AND he is the Chief Votive Stomper as I put a votive in a baggie and he crushes it with his boots on so that I can attach scent samples to my business cards.  I have to make sure that he doesn't crush ALL of the votives, though!

What is really neat is that I can "life-style" this business, sharing the product and opportunity everywhere I go, whether it be the bank, the post office or the waitress at the local diner.  I am SO glad that I got involved when this opportunity "fell into my lap" as it has helped to rejuvenate me and given me a new sense of purpose and passion.  I had recently decided to focus heavily on becoming debt-free and was wanting to do so without having to get a job outside of the home.  This business became the answer and the neat thing is that it is FUN!  What could be better than getting paid to play?!

Tracey Gilmore Sees "The Big Picture!"

Hello, all!

My first comment to everyone is to congratulate you on your most EXCELLENT decision to join this great company!  I have more fun, by far, doing this than anything else I've ever tried.  The training and resources and support are far beyond anything I could have ever imagined!

When I first began my Scent-Sations business, I was totally not interested in Team Building.  My impression of Network Marketing was the same as everyone else's, only the people at the top can make any money.

When my good friend, Kathy Schneider, introduced me to the candles, I was bowled over by how great they smelled, and how well the fragrance traveled.

I was in the right place in my life, my youngest was starting kindergarten, and I was trying to decide what I wanted to do.  After being out of the job market for 15 years, I couldn't see myself putting on heels and a skirt and looking for a 9-5 job, taking me away from my family, so Scent-Sations seemed to suit my needs.

After retailing exclusively for about 6 months, I began to catch the vision of team building (thanks, Kathy!), and had some needs that a walk away income could provide, so I began recruiting some.  I failed miserably for about 6 months, not for lack of trying, I might add, but for lack of training.  But, I never gave up, and with the unending support of my upline (thanks again, Kathy and the whole team!), my team slowly began to build.

I switched from splitting my time between retailing and team building to exclusively team building about 8 months ago, and have enjoyed recruiting far more than I ever thought I would.  I truly love helping people find solutions to problems that life presents to them.

I believe that Scent-Sations is poised on the very edge of incredible growth.  The leadership team at Corporate care very much about the success of every individual distributor, and every suggestion and concern they hear from the field is treated with concern and integrity.  Thanks, guys!

Here's what changed my momentum.  I decided about 6 months ago that having a goal of signing new team members put too much pressure on me and on my prospects.  If people weren't joining, I was failing, and that disappointment bred inactivity.  My focus now is on "dials per day".

My goal is to dial the phone 20 times every day.  If I leave a message or speak to someone, it doesn't matter.  Once I reach 20, I've achieved success for that day, and can be satisfied with that goal.

In achieving that goal every day, my skill level has increased, and I'm no longer concerned about "selling" myself, my company and my team.  I have complete confidence in what I have to offer those people who request information, and my only job is to present the opportunity in an easy-to-understand format, and to follow up adequately.

I'm getting better and better at what I do, and more confident and comfortable with what I do.  I highly recommend finding an industry trainer whose style you're comfortable with and soaking up as much of their training as you can.  These people's resources are well worth the price!

Lets all blow this business OUT in 2006!

Speed In Distribution, Speed On The Highway
for Scent-Sations, Inc. Employee, Billy Martin

Billy MartinTwenty-three year old Billy Martin was born and raised in Kingston, PA across the river from the Scent-Sations, Inc. Headquarters. He graduated from Bishop O’Reilly High School and attended Luzerne County Community College for computer systems. He graduated with an associate’s degree.

A friend knew Billy was looking for something to do for summer work and told him about a new candle company in Wilkes-Barre. Billy hopped on his motorcycle and drove over for an interview.

Colleen Fleckno, the head of distribution liked what she saw and heard and said “I'm hiring you for my division.” (hey there aren't any computers in Colleen's division!)

Billy started the next day and his work ethic was so strong that within a year Colleen asked him to take on her assistant manager position.

“Working here has been a fun experience and one I'll never forget nor will I want to change.
I've learned a lot about the “inner workings” of the business world and my “boss” Colleen Fleckno has taught me so much about “managing people” and I couldn’t have learned such skills in 10 years at college!"

Top Guns Say That Mia Bella's Make The Best Scents

From Director, John Macfadden: “The person who buys cheap candles usually complains that they are so black and sooty, and they don't scent the room for very long, or very far from the flame. Add to this the TRUE VALUE of cheap vs. Mia Bella.

Cost of cheap candle - $5 for the average 16 ouncer

      • Smell lasts about 2 hours
      • Cost per hour of scent (which is why people buy scented candles) is $2.50/hour
      • Cost of paint to cover black soot stains or new curtains or shelving damaged due to black soot could be enormous

Cost of Gourmet Mia Bella's - $18.95

      • Scent lasts AT LEAST 80 hours
      • Cost per hour of scent.... LESS THAN 40 cents an hour.
      • NO ADDITIONAL repainting, recovering or replacing costs. NO SOOT

These are the BMW's of Candles.
It might cost more to buy.. but the value more than speaks for itself.”

From Director Shep Kuester: “Gourmet candles, the highest quality candle available, sell for $20 to $45 for a 16-oz to 18-oz jar. If anyone searches the Internet they can verify those numbers.

At the local five & dime or some of those giant superstores you can find inexpensive candles. Yup, at flea markets and low end gift shops you can find inexpensive soy candles (usually home-made). However, once you and your friends try a Mia Bella - the comparison is over

Some may tell you that Mia Bella's are too expensive...don’t believe them!

3 years ago I did a test at two very large commercial shows. I dropped the price of Mia Bella's significantly to see if it would draw more customers. Guess what? I didn't sell any more jars to new customers than the year before OR the year after! Of course my total sales in dollars for that year were considerably different!

To me, this is a non-argument. I NEVER personally purchased scented candles, so I had no opinion and no prior 'prejudice' to go by. What I have learned is from customers who buy our candles over and over. Yes, they DO come back for more - and even pay the extra shipping to get them between shows.

Mia Bella's Signal A New Love Affair for Mom
Last Christmas I gave my mom a Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper jar.  She loved it!  She told me that all she had to do was take the lid off to fragrance their condo.  Couple of months ago I asked her if she had started to burn her candle yet. (She lives over 1,000 miles from me.)  She told me she hadn't.  I let her know that she could have another one when that one was gone.  Mom insisted that she was just fine with the candle jar open but not lit.

I talked to her a couple of  days ago.  One of my adopted brothers came to visit and the truth came out.

The condos they live in are for seniors and the smoke detectors are set to be VERY sensitive.  When they go off, a signal is sent to a monitoring system and management is immediately notified.   Well, someone in the building set the smoke detector off with a votive, yes, a single votive, they bought at a local store.  My mom was afraid that the jar with 2 wicks would definitely do the same.

When my brother came to visit and saw the candle, he insisted on lighting it.  Mom called the management office to let them know in case the smoke detector went off.  Then, she sat and waited.  The only thing that happened was their condo quickly started to be filled with the wonderful scent of Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper.  Several hours went by with no problem.  When they were getting ready to leave to go out for dinner, she started to worry that there would be too much smoke and the detectors would go off.  My brother blew out the candle and there wasn't a problem.  When they opened the door to leave, people walking by in the hall complimented the smell.

My mom is so excited about this that she wants samples to share with the other ladies there who love candles but are afraid to burn them.  She doesn't want to sell them. She LOVES her candle even more now and can't believe how good the quality is.

I will be going to visit her next month and will take some candles, jars and votives, plus my sample bag for the ladies to smell.  I told mom we would have a "smelly" party.

Karen Deuschle Sets New Scent-Sations Goal
My name is Karen Deuschle and I live in Wexford, PA, which is a northern suburb of Pittsburgh. I love to read, garden, parent, sew, and entertain friends. I have been with Scent-Sations since October of 2005 and I am having a blast! It came as a big surprise to me to be in the top 10 for retailing in March, and I have to admit most of what I sold that month was from one fundraiser.

As a quick introduction, I am a wife, and mother of 3 amazing kids. Our son, Jamie, 19, is a freshman at Belmont University in Nashville; daughter Sara Beth, 16 is a high school sophomore; and daughter Kirsten is 12 and in 6th grade. After spending 20 years in the nursing industry I decided to stop my part-time job and re-evaluate my life. I took 2 years to develop myself and to think about what I wanted for the next 20 years, and God put this opportunity in front of me at just the right time!

I have always had an independent and entrepreneurial spirit and so a home-based business is a perfect fit for me in more than one way. My top priorities are my family and my faith so whatever I do has to fit around my life and not take away from the time I spend with my precious kids, and with this company I can do exactly that. This is the third time I have owned my own business and this is definitely the most fun I have ever had!

Being a multiple pet household and a lover of a cozy home I have been a candle user for many years, sometimes spending more than I should on candles! So, naturally when I found my sponsor Kelly’s (Wissink) ad on the Internet my curiosity was piqued and I decided to look into the company and the opportunity. I bought a few of the products to test before I sold them to others and I was really impressed with everything I tried! I was hooked right away, and quickly ordered more candles and soaps so I could start my new business!

Because I really like to work from home, around the rest of my life, I decided early on that my main focus was going to be on the Internet with some fundraising and retailing to support my expenses. Even though my team-building is moving a little more slowly than I had hoped I know that God is just preparing me for what lies ahead. I am on a wonderfully supportive team with a sponsor who is a perfect fit for me and I am determined to be successful with this and to eventually have the words “Senior Director” on my business cards!

My original goal with starting this business was to "help" pay for my sons college education but at this point I am upgrading that goal to be completely financing his tuition in the next 2 years! I really believe that with this great company and the amazing training that is available, that my attitude is what will determine my success. The choice is really mine whether I want to earn a small income for "pin money" or an INCOME that could change my children's futures and also help others in the process!

I want to send out a big thank you to the corporate office at Scent-Sations, to my amazing team, and to my supportive husband, Fred. I wouldn’t be here without all of you!

Karen Deuschle

Mia Bella Director's hit the road to success... again!
April 30th, Wanda, Minnesota - May will find Directors John & Lise Mac Fadden on the road again to Nebraska, Texas and Kansas

ChicagoHello everyone! What a wonderful business Scent-Sations is. Thanks to our sponsor Bob Murray (Maine) we have been able to enjoy a freedom of lifestyle like we have never had before. At this writing we have sponsored 11 new reps while away from home... letting the computer do the prospecting while we are out having fun.

We started our month plus road trip heading for a stop in Rochester, Minnesota... so on the way there we had the opportunity to spend some time in Chicago and had a wonderful dinner at a great little Italian restaurant - Rosebud - in the heart of downtown Chicago. We enjoyed the best pasta we have ever had at this great place that has been visited by such celebrities as Jay Leno, Joe Pesci, Tony Bennett and many more. If you are ever driving through the Chicago area we highly recommend this restaurant. We also took some time to enjoy some of the fabulous shopping Downtown Chicago has to offer.... it was a real event!

Schilling MobOur purpose for heading to Rochester, Minnesota was an invitation from our dear friends, Tom & Susan Schilling (the outlaws pictured at left! Friends we made at one of the famous Mia Bella Flings! ) to attend the wedding of their daughter Lindsey to Zach Sheeran. Since Lindsey's father Tom was in service in Iraq and was not going to be able to attend the wedding himself, we took it as a great honor to be invited.... so you can imagine everyone's excitement when, at the last minute (literally) Tom was given "leave" to attend the wedding..... and that made it a VERY SPECIAL WEDDING indeed. We really have grown to love Tom & Susan and this just made the whole trip even MORE worthwhile. Tom is now back in Iraq and we know Scent-Sations reps everywhere will pray for his safe return. We'll be there when you get back Tom.... for some golfing, fishing and motorcycling!

Mall of AmericaNext on the agenda was a trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota to see and experience the MALL of AMERICA.

We spent the entire day covering over 400 stores and amusements of the Mall and if you want to have a FAMILY experience while enjoying world class shopping, THIS is the place to be!

Rohlik MobNext we made our way down to Wanda, Minnesota to spend more time with Tom & Susan Schilling along with their great friends (and Mia Bella Reps of course!) The Rohlik's (the Minnesota Mob to the left) We were able to spend a few days with Dawn and Art and their wonderful children having a fantastic time playing card and board games and walking through the beautiful Century Home that they moved on to their property. You wouldn't believe it is possible to move an entire house from one end of town to their farm, but the pictures they shared with us told the story. AMAZING! They are in the process of gutting and rebuilding the house completely from the inside out. Art is a real professional and the home already looks like a "work of Art". We so enjoyed our time with them that we definitely will be planning a return trip... after all, Wanda is "on the way home" from everywhere (smile to Dawn....). That is if they'll let us (smile) after all those "full contact" board and card games we played!

Next on our agenda is a stop in Gresham, Nebraska with two of our closest friends, Randy & Susie Tonniges - Diamond Distributors on our team.

We have known Randy and Susie for many years from one of our previous business ventures and they are truly the salt of the earth. Our only complaint is that Nebraska is so far from us in Ontario, Canada... we don't get to see them as often as we like... but thanks to Scent-Sations, we see them more often that we would if we had regular 9-5 jobs. We will be spending a week with them and I am sure "Randall The Candle King" will have lots of fun in store for us! There is never a dull moment when Randy & Susie are nearby. We are really looking forward to spending time with them... we love them so much!

May 10th or 11th will find us a guests of our top leaders - Judy & John Handrahan of Round Rock, Texas (near Austin) ... formerly of Kansas City, Missouri. John & Judy also are great friend of ours from our previous business venture with Excel Communications. If people only knew that the best part of a network marketing business is the truly great people you meet and the close friends you make. I just can't imagine life without people like John & Judy.... they are true friends... the kind you can count on for ANYTHING!

John & Judy recently moved into "The Mansions" at Round Rock and are building a huge Scent-Sations business while enjoying the freedom of being able to relocate to live near their daughter and son-in-law and of course their wonderful grandson - Jedi! They are a living example of what this business can do for you if you plan your work and work your plan.

Our plans also include a stop in Kansas City to attend the Mid-States conference hosted by leaders Kellene & Bill VanDorn and special guests CEO Bob Scocozzo, VP Charlie Umphred, VP R&D Carmen Milazzo, Senior Director Jackie Ulmer and many other great leaders.

We look forward to meeting as many fellow Scent-Sations reps on our travels.... if you are close to where we are going to be we would love to meet you. Just send an email to wjohn@miabella.ca and we'll see you "on the road".

May your life be "Scent-Sational"!

Distributors of the Month: Jeff & Stacey Pfohl
Jeff & Stacey PfohlJeff Pfohl and wife Stacey have been distributors with Scent-Sations for 11 months now.

We live in Plano, Texas with our 11 year old daughter, Jessica. We had heard about Scent-Sations over a year before we actually joined, but at the time we had other business ventures going and thought we were too busy to give it a try. When we finally joined it was because we fell in love with the candles. We were actively involved in other home biz ventures but were not happy with the results. This is when we decided to focus 100% of our efforts on the Scent-Sations business!

We got started and in no time we realized that this was the business for us. When we saw the reaction people had to the product at our first home party, it confirmed to us we had made the right decision. A few months into the business our daughter sold her dance school on the idea of having a fundraiser. The class of 48 girls sold over 300 candles!

In 11 short months we have grown our team well beyond our expectations. We have found this business to be like a big family. As our team grows we find it exciting to see a member turn Diamond or another level added to our organization. We have had great support from many other members in our up-line. Our only regret is that we did not join this business a year earlier when we first found out about Scent-Sations. While we both hold regular daytime jobs as well, our ultimate goal is to become Director and the daily grind of those regular jobs will not be required!

Thank you Scent-Sations for creating a great product and home business!
